After 2007’s first volume, which introduced rising stars like Ryo Murakami and Audio Soul Project to the highlife, we are now ready to take an extravagant leap into the current and future sound of Dessous. Over 2 CDs, including 10 full tracks and a superb, detailed mix by Steve Bug, we find all corners of these secrets uncovered and flowing free.

Heading off the journey with the warming ‘Juegos Fantasiticos’ by Dessous and Poker Flat recent wonderkid David Durango; the Swiss-Spaniard also has more content on offer here with the sublime ‘Striptease’, and also his unbelievable ‘Human’.

We then pass through the delicious phases of Ryo Murakami’s ‘Off The Wall’ – an exclusive to the compilation that takes a deep, extended trip into modern Chicago House. Continuing that vibe, the modern bounce of René Breitbarth’s ‘Le Groove Rhodes’ will have us all in raptures before the track’s finale!

UK groove-meister Moodymanc offers up his very special ‘Omlette’, with Dplay providing remix duties to perfect effect, while new cat Andrade contributes the secede of three exclusive to the comp, with the cheeky, bumpin’ house of ‘Merise’. Watch out for this producer who will also release a hot new 12’’ with Dessous soon!

Indeed the UK contingent has yet more representation as prodigious young tyke Burnski hands in ‘New Road FM’, a tweaking, jacking jam thats full of top class production and smooth pushing house elements; while newcomer Claire Ripley adds her refined touch with ‘Labyrinth’.

Closing the first CD we find Graeme Clark’s ecstatic slo-mo-house version of Ryo Murakami’s ‘Just For This’ – concluding the round up in style its twists a late burning beatdown towards modern, forward thinking zones. Much in the style of Dessous’ continually fresh take on all that is deep, groovy, detailed and addictive about House Music today!

CD 2 – Steve Bug Best Kept Secrets Mix

None other than Dessous man in charge, Steve Bug mixes the second CD which positively packed full of unmissable tracks. Clocking in around the 70minutes mark and throwing up 15 extra tracks into the mix, its an absolute burner!

Opening with the haunting tones of Breitbarth’s ‘Detective’, the mix segues into the compilation’s third new exclusive cut in the form of Tigerskin’s ‘Voodoo’: bizarre vocal wanderings and chunky beats set the tone from here on in.

Not far past this mark the dulcet tones of Robert Owens backed by Berkson & What join in, and Matthias Meyer’s psychedelic remix of David Durango’s ‘Perfect Day’ rushes through.

Running into depth-charge house with Moodymanc’s ‘Snore’, and Sascha Dive’s ‘Secret Dub’ of Two Armadillos: ‘Hamlin’, you’ll be enthralled and captured in mix as Steve Bug masterfully holds the reins tight!

Two cuts from Claire Ripley feature, including Gorge’s hotly-drummed remix of ‘Labyrinth’, and also her original hypnotic ‘Utopia’. Steve drops Langenberg’s ‘Alternate Rhythm’ before Hamburg hero Solomun’s ‘Woodstep’ creeps onto the stage.

The final stages of this excellent, detailed and high-action mix are played out with another fantastic Burnski cut; ‘Me And You’, and Ryo Murakami’s mix of Innocent Lovers’ ‘Neophunk’ burns through before the closing bars of Moodymanc’s Omlette complete the blend.

Its a classic mix in the making from Steve Bug, seamlessly displaying the vast array of talent available on the ever-growing Dessous imprint.
