Many years doing nothing, that’s the secret in between Grand Popo Football Club’s first album and the upcoming one. Years and years of intellectual void that gave Nicolas Errera and Ariel Wizman plenty of time to be busy with essential things : reading notices, playing baseball with eggs, playing battleships, getting married at Bollywood, discussing important matters with hairdressers, “lol-ing”, and of course speaking on the phone for hours to preserve their legendary friendship. Like for the first opus, the boring usual vibes that have been heard so many times in electronic music are avoided, giving us an album for which qualifications would only be detrimental. There is words, there is subtlety, there is no stress, there is the lucky charm, Tania, there are sounds that bring true reflection on the dancefloor… and that’s why there is a second album of Grand Popo Football Club.
