Pure pacha is the brainchild of one of the most influential men in dance music, mr pete tong. Now in its third successful year the ultra-glam night is in full swing. Pete describes it as “a wonderland for grown ups who don’t want to be grown up just yet.” We thought it was only fair to check out the night everybody’s talking about…

The opening party in june saw legends carl cox and of course the man himself pete tong rock the house. Weeks to follow included such stellar line ups of angel linde, zouk’s resident aldrin, italy’s man of the moment claudio cocculuto, spain’s main man wally lopez and of course fashionstar jade jagger; who is in charge of proceedings in the global room with her hand picked djs spinning a blend of hip hop and blissed out r&b for the jezebel parties.

The date we couldn’t resist checking out was july 8th, when show-stopping-super-starlet kelis turned up to wow the crowd with her vocal talents. The big-haired one sang a pleasing selection of her biggest hits including ‘milkshake’ and ‘trick me’. Wearing a stunning blue dress she owned the stage throughout her performance, getting the crowd involved at every opportunity.

On the same night pete tong also supplied a sublime and seductive set combining elements of electro, bass heavy house and a sprinkling of that magic balearic vibe.
Line-ups for the coming weeks include david guetta’s opulent ‘f*** me i’m famous’ party (august 5th) and nic fanciulli on august 26th.

September sees underwater coming to pure pacha with house-bods darren emerson and tim deluxe. John digweed arrives on september 9th, wally lopez on september 16th and the ever outrageous danny howells and jacques lu cont on september 23rd. The closing party is on september 30th and promises to be one to remember! Planet funk’s alex neri will be on deck duties alongside pete tong, sarah main and jade jagger’s jezebel.
