Featuring headliners like Derrick May, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano, the 2009 European edition of Movement Festival promises 2 days of dance to some of the best Dj and live sets any clubber in the world can dream nowadays. Movement Torino is becoming the most important Italian festival of contemporary music, visuals and performance arts. The festival is the European version of the Movement Festival Detroit, considered by many as the most important dance music festival in the world and held in Detroit since 2000. The first overseas event of this kind was staged on 15 December 2006, by Movement Europe and this fourth edition confirms, the festival is establishing it self as the strongest to be held in southern Europe every fall.

Thanks to the cooperation with techno legend Derrick May, Movement founder and world ambassador, Movement Torino and Movement Detroit have recently signed a strategic partnership aimed to strengthen their mutual brand value. Which obviously reflects in the amazing strong line up of this year.

The 2009 edition will return on Friday the 30th and Saturday the 31st October at the PalaOlimpico – Isozaki of Torino: a totally unique venue and probably the best in the whole country for this purpose.

The official opening party will take place on 29th October presenting nothing less than Omar S., the productive and talented Detroit producer and Dj, which carries the quality and blueprint from Motown already to its 3rd generation.

Movement will grow with a rich cultural-music program. After the great success of last year, the workshop returns at the “Polytechnic of Torino” between the students and the artists. Thanks to the partnership with Movement and the Faculty of Cinema and Media Engineering, two workshops will be held in October on the topic “Space Sunsets” and “Contemporary Music and Technology”.
